On Big Feet: New Twentyniners

Schwalbe will debut three new "Twentyniner" versions of it´s leading MTB models Rocket Ron and Nobby Nic at EUROBIKE. Both tires come in size 29 x 2.25 and Nobby Nic also in 29 x 2.35.

Twentyniners have been the rage for some time in the USA: But since the victory of Karl Platt and Stephan Sahm (Team Bulls) in July’s Trans-Alp they are now catching on in Europe too. The larger tires cope better on irregular surfaces and also run more smoothly. The longer foot-print they produce affords better grip and, at the same time, lower rolling resistance on inclines, and these better performance characteristics make them particularly attractive to touring riders. And 29´ers are presently the tires of choice in both national and international competitions.
Schwalbe has launched its range topping Nobby Nic and Rocket Ron tire for "Bigwheelers". Both tires are in Schwalbe´s exclusive Evolution Line and feature the very latest in tire technology: The new, extremely fast and grippy PaceStar Triple Compound as well as optimially spaced U-block lugs for more cornering grip.
The legendary Nobby Nic "Allgrounder", which has been a serial winner of magazine tests for many years, is also equipped with "SnakeSkin" - that protects sidewalls from damage. Its weight is just 650 grams (29 x 2.25).
Alternatively Rocket Ron is a super-light, 520 grams "Rocket" especially for competition use - with unbelievable grip and a great self-cleaning action. They are also practical: All new versions are "Tubeless Ready" and can be easily converted to Tubeless tires by adding a liquid puncture sealant. (Extra weight: Five grams).
All models will be available at the end of 2010 from specialist bicycle dealers.
