How often does the sealing fluid have to be renewed or refilled?

Refilling the sealing fluid is only necessary to prevent punctures. Schwalbe Doc Blue lasts as an active puncture preventative for around 3 months and partially for much longer. Thereafter it dries out into a rubber film. Testing by inserting a needle into the tread and then rotating the wheel will easily show if the sealing fluid is still functioning. If the hole is not automatically sealed, then the sealing fluid needs to be replaced. The "test hole" is then repaired by the new sealing fluid.
